Early on, he understood that the role of the artist is not to please but to provoke. After completing a formal education in sculpture from 2002 to 2005 in Germany, he was awarded a European Union scholarship to pursue his work in Italy, which led him to Carrara, the legendary marble capital.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\">Since 2005, Stahlberg has been based in Massa-Carrara, Italy, where he deepened his artistic practice through both formal and autodidactic studies. His research focused especially on post-1945 German sculpture, with a particular interest in combining traditional materials like marble with synthetic ones. His works are expressive, ironic, and sharp-edged with vibrant surfaces masking tragic depth.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\">In 2015, he co-founded Fronte Acciaio Cromato (F.A.C.), an anti-conformist avant-garde artist collective operating from a workshop in the heart of Carrara.
